Grill It Up: Articulation Game!

This summer I provided ESY services to Pre-K aged kiddos - and we had a blast! I love ESY because it is so much more laid back than the rest of the school year. But I was having a little trouble finding some summer themed activities for my articulation students. I'd been using my Summer No Prep Articulation Packet, but we needed some activities with some MOVEMENT and PLAY - after all it is summer! So I came up with this Grill It Up Activity!

It includes over 400 hamburger and hotdog cards for /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, /m/, /n/, /sh/, /ch/, /th/, /s/, /z/, /s/ blends, /r/, /r/ blends, /l/, /l/ blends, weak syllable deletion, and final consonant deletion. Combine these cards with a cooling rack and a pair on tongs - and you have an interactive grilling activity!
I glue two cards together back-to-back so that no matter which way the child "flips" the burgers/hotdogs, a stimulus picture will be showing. We also incorporated plates for the students so they could "serve" each other. There were so many opportunities for the kids to label - while putting the cards on the grill, flipping the cards, putting the cards on the plates, pretending to eat the cards, etc. And it incorporates some really great collaborative play skills!

While I made this activity for the summer, it would also be great for all the fall cookouts that will be coming up! You can find it here in my teachers pay teachers store.
